Yes, we’re aiming high – a thriving, six-figure online business!

But, let’s be real: getting those first few health coaching clients can feel a bit like climbing a mountain in flip-flops.

This guide on how to get clients as a health coach will explore some practical strategies to land your first five wellness coaching clients.

From reaching out to friends and family (without feeling awkward about it) to making waves on social media, and even some old-school tactics like flyers and workshops – we’ve got you covered.

It’s about mixing the personal touch with smart marketing, all while being authentically you.

So, grab your favorite beverage, settle in, and let’s dive into how you can start making your dream a reality, one client at a time.

Remember, every big name out there started with client number one. And that’s exactly where you’re headed. Let’s do this!

1. Leverage Your Inner Circle of Friends and Family

Your immediate network is a goldmine for potential clients and how to get clients as a health coach. These are the people who already know and trust you, making it easier to establish a coaching relationship. Here’s key ways on how to approach them:

Craft a Compelling Personal Message

Reach out with a genuine, heartfelt message explaining your new venture as a wellness coach. Highlight your passion for helping others and share a bit about your journey and why you started this business. Personal connections are key here, so remember to be your authentic self.

Say you’re grabbing coffee with a friend, and you share your exciting news. “OMG, I have to tell you that I’ve just started this amazing journey as a wellness coach. It’s all about helping people live their best lives, and I’m so passionate about it.” Keep it real, just like you’re sharing a piece of your heart. This isn’t a sales pitch; it’s you, being you. You can tell them to let anyone know who comes to mind!

Offer a Special Launch Package

Sweeten the deal by creating an exclusive package just for your close friends and family. This could be a discounted rate or additional sessions thrown in for free.

Make it clear that you value their support in your new venture. Making your new clients feel valued and appreciated goes a long way.

Tip: Don’t do it for free though! This can hurt the perceived value of your services and we don’t want that, ladies!

Ask for Referrals

Encourage your friends and family to spread the word about your new business venture!! Word of mouth is a powerful marketing tool, and personal recommendations can go a long way in building trust with potential clients.

This is why you need to give so much VALUE inside your programs. If you can get your clients the TRANSFORMATION that you are promising, then you are GOLD!

This is one of my best pieces of advice on how to get clients as a health coach…if your clients get results, they will do the marketing for you!

2. Tap Into Your Own Network on Instagram & Social Media

Your personal and professional network can extend far beyond your immediate circle. Social media platforms like Instagram, Tik Tok and Pintertest, can be INCREDIBLE tools for reaching a wider audience:

Showcase Your Expertise on Instagram!

Build a Professional Instagram profile that reflects your expertise and passion. Share valuable content related to wellness and your new business!

Post success stories (with permission), give tips and personal revelations you’ve made in your own health journey, and make sure to engage with your audience!

Being present on social media can play a key role in reaching out to your ideal audience and clientele.

Make sure to post to your Instagram story to connect with your community and create Reels to reach new audiences.

As always remember authenticity is key to building a loyal following. There are many Wellness Coaches out there but none are YOU, own it and show it! Also keep in mind that it takes time to build up social media from scratch.

If you already have a following, this is perfect! But if you are starting from zero, I’d recommend the other approaches while your social media game is growing.

Create an Irresistible Juicy Offer

Design a compelling offer for your Instagram followers. This could be a limited-time discount, a free initial consultation, or exclusive access to a valuable resource.

Use Instagram stories and posts to promote your offer consistently. Don’t’ throw it up once and hope for the best. People need to see it multiple times before they take action!

Being consistent on social media is key to promoting your business and products you offer.

3. Take It Offline with Flyers and Workshops

While online presence is crucial, don’t underestimate the power of local, in-person strategies. Especially in 2024 when people are CRAVING in person events again!

Design Eye-Catching Flyers

Hard to believe I know, but not everyone is keen on social media that’s why branching out and creating physical flyers is a good way to network as well!

Create a visually appealing flyer that communicates your services, expertise, and contact information clearly. Distribute these flyers strategically in local wellness hotspots like yoga studios, spas, and gyms.

Keep the flyer clean and visually appealing. Don’t overwhelm it with too much copy. You can even add a QR code that they can scan to your services page!

Host a Wellness Workshop or Health Seminar

This could be a great strategy to get your first health coaching clients! Organize a workshop or seminar on a wellness-related topic.

This positions you as an expert in your community and provides an opportunity to showcase your authentic coaching style.

Don’t forget to get your audience small wins from the workshop! This way they can get a taste of the transformation you can offer them.

Make sure to collect contact information from attendees for follow-ups and give them flyers with a QR code that sends them to your landing page.

Collaborate with Local Businesses

Research local businesses that align with your wellness coaching niche. Look for yoga studios, holistic health centers, or fitness facilities that share a similar target clientele.

For example, if you specialize in stress management related health issues, a yoga studio may be an ideal partner.

You can also offer to provide a sample coaching session for their staff or clients!

Give them a taste of what you have to offer so they can speak to your coaching style. Establishing partnerships with local wellness businesses can be mutually beneficial.

Build strong community ties by attending local wellness events, workshops, or fitness classes where you can connect with like-minded individuals who may be potential clients.
